Colin Owens is a Lecturer in Design at the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University. He teaches design theory and digital media courses and has contributed to the “digitization” of the curriculum. In his free time he is a documentary photographer and composes music for independant film.
Colin has worked as an information architect and interaction designer for 15 years. He has lived and worked in Boston, New York, London and Turin, working a wide swath of posts: Brand Manager/ Design Director at Mobile Telecoms giant Orange, Senior Producer/ Information Architect at British Telecom, Senior Art Director/ Information Architect at Digitas, Producer for the Interface Group at Fitch and as Web Editor for the European Commission.
Colin graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in 1994 and Tufts University in 1998. He is currently attending MassArt’s DMI program in design.
