Jan Kubasiewicz is Professor of Communication Design and Coordinator of Graduate Design Program, the Dynamic Media Institute (dmiboston.org) at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design(massart.edu). He has been instrumental in developing an innovative graduate and undergraduate design curricula with an emphasis on the fundamentals and advanced topics in information architecture, information visualization and user interface design.
Kubasiewicz has served as visiting lecturer and critic at numerous national and international colleges and universities, among them including: Tongji University in Shanghai, China, University of Western Sydney, Australia, Osaka University of Arts, Japan, Academy of Fine Arts, Lodz, Poland, University of Hartford, Rochester Institute of Technology and Rhode Island School of Design. He has organized exhibitions, workshops, seminars and conferences on the topic of communication, design and media. His work has been published in numerous professional journals, catalogs and books.
As practitioner of design, Kubasiewicz has an extensive experience in information visualization, publishing and knowledge transfer for businesses and non-profit organizations. His clients include science and technology companies, as well as museums, galleries and educational institutions. Born and educated in Poland, Kubasiewicz holds an MFA degree in graphic design and printmaking and his personal work has been exhibited internationally in the USA, Japan, Germany, Poland, Italy and Canada.
